Israel Claims Strikes on Hezbollah Targets in Southern Lebanon

(MENAFN) The Israeli military stated on Saturday that it had killed multiple individuals it identified as Hezbollah members during a series of strikes in Lebanon, adding that it had also targeted and destroyed more than 70 sites in southern parts of the country over the previous 24 hours. The army described the operations as part of continued activity despite what it said was an ongoing ceasefire violation.

In its statement, the military claimed that some of the targeted locations included structures allegedly used by Hezbollah for launching attacks against Israeli positions and areas in northern Israel.

Hezbollah had not issued an immediate response regarding these claims at the time of reporting.

Separately, the Israeli army reported that one of its drones went down in southern Lebanon, noting that no soldiers were injured in the incident.

Airstrikes reportedly continued throughout southern Lebanon on Saturday, with at least five fatalities recorded, according to reports from Lebanese media sources.

In addition, the Lebanese army announced that one of its soldiers sustained serious injuries following a drone strike in the country’s south.
