It’s Official: David Jolly’s Running Mate Is DSA Socialist Angie Nixon

NEW VIDEO: WATCH HERE

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – David Jolly has interesting timing. The former Republican congressman, who later became an independent and is now the Democratic nominee for governor, finds himself sharing the top of the Florida Democratic ticket with U.S. Senate nominee Angie Nixon, a member of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA). The pairing is as revealing as it is awkward.

The socialist label was not applied to Nixon by Republicans. She chose it herself by joining the Democratic Socialists of America. Her record and platform leave little room for interpretation: eliminate capitalism, abolish the U.S. Senate, abolish ICE, impose a national rent freeze, eliminate private health insurance, and advance positions that are openly anti-Israel and hostile toward law enforcement.

Jolly now finds himself sharing the top of the Democratic ticket with a Squad-endorsed radical who believes Washington should dictate what Florida property owners can charge in rent and who supports nationalizing health care at the expense of state authority.

And this is not simply abstract ideology. Nixon has already demonstrated how she operates in Tallahassee. She brought a bullhorn onto the Florida House floor to disrupt proceedings she opposed. She staged a sit-in at Governor Ron DeSantis’ office and was arrested after refusing to leave when the building closed. A new RPOF video released today walks through this record in detail, making the case that Jolly and Nixon are “one and the same.”

Jolly has publicly claimed that he “rejects socialism” and “rejects the DSA.” Yet he now sits atop a Democratic ticket alongside a DSA member whose politics he claims to oppose. That is not leadership. It is an admission that today’s Florida Democratic Party is no longer the party it once was.

“David Jolly and Angie Nixon are one and the same,” said Evan Power, Chairman of the Republican Party of Florida. “They want to overturn the tremendous successes achieved by Governor DeSantis and our Republican Legislature—lower taxes, reduced debt, expanded school choice and parental rights, and a business-friendly environment that has helped Florida thrive.

“Angie Nixon wants Florida’s decisions made in Washington, D.C., and, as a member of the DSA, embraces an organization whose agenda seeks to dismantle fundamental American institutions and capitalism itself. David Jolly may claim to reject socialism, but Florida voters should judge him by the ticket he now leads.

“The Jolly-Nixon ticket is wrong for Florida, and the Republican Party of Florida will work tirelessly to make sure every voter knows exactly what they stand for.”
